Nice, G! Love those what-doesn't-kill-you-makes-you-stronger moments.

Oh, it got better as the day wore on...
I made the mistake of getting into the car again - well, kinda had to - had to pick up Beerman from work. While cruising up and down the hilly back road (at about 55-60 mph), I spot a turkey vulture soaring quite high up. I get back to watching the road. As I start up another hill, the vulture appears out of nowhere (well, not nowhere, he was in the sky) and just misses slamming into the windshield. I have to say, for a bird that size, he pulled up very gracefully and I hit the brakes very quickly. They have a 5-6 foot wingspan and that's about all I saw in front of me for a few moments - black feathers obscuring my complete view.
Continuing on my journey, and about 2 minutes later, I start around a blind corner. I make a point of taking that one very slowly because oncoming pick-up trucks like to zoom around it taking up both lanes. Oh, look what's in the middle of the road... Three children, with their bikes, just standing there. One holds up his hand to me in the "stop the car" position. I crept past them and they moved slightly, giving me dirty looks for not stopping. Needless to say, Beerman drove us home.

I also had random elderly people just start talking to me about random stuff everywhere I went yesterday. An older man asked if I had ever ridden the grocery carts and then proceeded to ride his down the aisle. A woman commented how she loved pushing the cart down the "wrong" side of the aisle because it made her feel wicked. She loved that. I was invited to a real estate and personal property auction this Saturday but the gentleman neglected to say who he was and where it would be. (Not that I was going to go - I own a house.) Seems they are bankrupt and need to sell though they were driving a rather new Lincoln Towncar and he bought quite a few lottery tickets. Guess he's hoping for a windfall.

All should be just fine! My Dad had 3 stints put in a few ears ago, and he's had healthy checkups ever since. I'd say he's probably a lot healthier and in better shape for it. Minor medical miracles abound!

Still no medals cause we keep classifying at bottom of a new category, but our DB team posted our best times ever and made it to the Premiere level. Woo hoo! I'm now barely able to lift my coffee cup, but good times were had by all.

Oh--and I managed to lift a big marble out of a bucket of water with a pair of chopsticks. Hidden talent I didn't even know I had!
