It's monday and I returned to work after 10 days of holidaying in sunny Greece. Not exactly a reason to smile, but my colleagues surprised me with a bouquet of flowers, a card and a belated birthday present !

It started out as something that made me frown--I waited till the very last minute to book accommodation in Quebec City this weekend, and EVERYWHERE I called was booked up. That'll teach me to think I'm the only one going away on a long weekend.

However! On a whim I called the Chateau Frontenac and they had 2 rooms left--at more than I'd usually pay for a night. So Neal and I looked at each other and said "why not!". Might as well stay there once in our lifetime! Anyway, I have a ton of papers to hand in to the insurance company so that should cover a good chunk... right??

Our client sends me vouchers once a month to give to my top performing engineer - well theyve been pissing me off this week and dont deserve anything, so l gave them to our cleaner a lovely lady who never gets anything. Well it was only a small amount nothing much but l have never witnessed someone react with such gratitude. I was embarassed - it was only a really really small token and she came into my office close to tears and started to hug and kiss me!!!

Making someone else happy made me smile today!!!
