It mad me smile and feel terribly guilty about it!

This morning, on the Metro, there was a rather hefty woman sitting across from us. When she got up, I noticed her work pass dangling from her pocket. It had flipped around, though, and the company logo was showing. It said "Chubb."

I laughed into Neal's shirt between muffles of "I'm going to hell!".

Last evening, Beerman opened the back door to take a potshot (with the pellet gun) at one of the raccoons when we both saw movement by hollyhocks farther back in the yard. Quickly, and quietly, closing the door (after not shooting at the raccoon), the movement proved to be 2 deer grazing in the patch. A few minutes later, a 3rd deer appeared and a few minutes after that, a buck showed up. Looking at his antler rack, we think it's the buck that's been raiding our bird feeders for the past 3 years and he brought his family yesterday. We watched them for just about an hour before they headed across the road and into the empty field. All that was smile enough. But, 15 minutes ago, I went out to feed the zoo (cats) and as I came around a corner of the garage, I startled one of the deer youngsters. She (or he) was grazing about 20 yards from the house, looked up at me and then slowly trotted off into the corn that is still standing. It was awesome!

Philly - if you were hanging out with "Bambi" last night - THANK YOU! ;)

Hooray!!! Bucky is back!!! And he's got a family now, bless his little cotton socks...

I wasn't doing anything, maybe he's come by for the snakes...

If they came about the snakes, then they have done a good job keeping them at bay. ;)
I set out edible offerings yesterday afternoon up in the "pet semetary". Last evening, the youngsters dropped by for another visit but didn't touch the offerings at that time. Of course, this morning, everything was gone. As we were having morning coffee, first the mom crossed the road from the open field and disappeared into the corn just west of the house. Shortly after, here came Bucky, crossing the road and into the corn also. (As usual, my only worry is hunting season which is just 3 weeks away.)
