I also know the WalMart greeter from his previous job at the local grocery but he always remembers me and greeted me with "Hello Sunshine" this morning. It made me giggle.

Such things are to be expected in the Year of the Giggle.

It was last night, but Neal and I got to sit up-close-ish and personal at the Bell Centre to watch the Montreal Canadiens clobber the Toronto Maple Leafs 6-2. Lots of good ol' glove dropping and name calling. They actually managed to play exactly 1 second before the clock was stopped for a fight. How someone managed to fling their gloves in a second is beyond me, but there was a lot of excitement...

Best of all, the fan rivalry never gets any worse than a few taunts and some used-napkin throwing. Neal couldn't believe there weren't riot police on hand...

Not sure if this really belongs in the smile or the frown thread...

Beerman hooked up the converter box to the TV this afternoon. (Has to be done by Feb. 17th or no TV at all since everything goes HD at that time.) We now get 3 times the channels and all come in exceptionally clear. The problem - one of the stations was showing Alias Smith & Jones followed by It Takes A Thief with Robert Wagner. We've avoided dish TV so we wouldn't spend all of our time watching and now they give us extra channels and flashback shows we used to watch.

American actor and playwright Sam Shepard has been arrested for allegedly drinking and driving in Illinois.
He was also accused of speeding, with police saying he was driving at 46mph (74km/h) in a 30mph (48km/h) area.
The 65-year-old's blood alcohol level was twice the legal limit when he was stopped in the town of Normal, Lt Mark Kotte of the local police force added.

Question

How far away are Beerman and Isadora from Normal?

Saw that report yesterday. Thankfully, Isa Manor is about 160 miles north and slightly west of Normal. Interestingly, the story said he'd been hanging out in a bar in Bloomington and was heading home to Kentucky. I think he got lost trying to find the interstate as Bloomington is just a hop, skip and jump north (not south) of Normal. Bloomington/Normal are also home to Illinois State University so maybe he was looking for a holiday frat house party... Maybe he was really heading for Isa Manor...

Definately not Normal

Thats terrible not saying anything !!! The skating was great fun but I'm terrible at it !!! But I made loads of other smile with the amount of times I fell and the rum and chocolate they were selling around the edges went down very well
