Personal challenge - lm petrified of heights - been known to freeze and not move neither up nor down. Yesterday l had a team of new guys start working for me - and their job entails working at heights on ladders/roof work etc. So as part of induction & team building we go off to do a heights course.
Gotta lead from the front so l was expected to go too - now l as sh*tting myself about this. But l managed to twice climb a 15 metre telegraph pole stand on a teeny platform on top - maybe about foot and half by foot and half and launch my self of it to try and grab a traipeze wire. Ok missed the traipeze and was left dangling by the harnass but I DID IT!!!! Apparently l was squeaking going up the pole - everyone expected screams nope l just made squeaking noises!! And there is video footage - must upload it if l get a moment!!
Then l climbed a further 30 metre pole and stood on a platform for 10 mins with winds gusting around me before doing a zip wire!!
So proud of myself that l actually did it!!
Yay, Heather! That's some feat!
mom called me early this morning and told me that she will buy a new camera phone... :D
That's gotta go on my business card and headstone
My boyfriend gave me dates of when he should get leave home from his tour. Roll on 4th July!!!! He gets home for 2 whole weeks and then has only another 8 weeks left to complete after that!! YAY!
And his firs month away is practically up and to be honest it has flown by!
Having 2 weeks holidays !!!
Was very slack and only visited my tax accountant in Feb this year to have my 2007 and 2008 tax returns done.
The 2007 return was 18 months overdue and the 2008 was about 6 months overdue.
The Australian Tax Office generally charges high interest on late returns so I was expecting a combined bill of about $3000 AUD.
Got the total tax bill in the mail when I got home 6 hours ago.
I owe the bastards $8.50 for 2 years tax adjustment
See, they found out that you became a Travel Guru and decided to let the fines slide. TG has it's perks!
I walked five miles today!!!
