Off to a resort up north for 6 days for my sister's wedding! They're predicting sunny skies and warm weather--and we've got 3 pools and a lake to choose from! Woo hoo!

More of a "Twilight Zone" alternate universe type giggle (but a good one)...

I received 2 FaceBook notifications this afternoon - one for a message and then an "add a friend" invite. Turns out - it's my cousin who I haven't seen since 1993. I haven't heard from her since my Christmas card was returned as "moved - undeliverable" in 1995. But, that's not the Twilight Zoney thing.

To date, since April, I found my grade school next door neighbor by searching for geological information and his FB profile popped up. My old lab partner, from my first "real" job (in Illinois), called me after an obscure search engine listed my last name from my first marriage along with my current last name. He'd been looking for me for over 10 years. (Figured I wasn't the doctor or country singer Gretchen Wilsons.) Kris' uncle, who had not been in contact with family for 62 years, made contact and brought along a whole new group of family with him. Last week, 4 of Kris' old friends contacted him after rediscovering some old photos. Today, my cousin.

All very nice surprises, but surprises none-the-less. Who knows how long these reconnections will last but it's still kinda cool in an alternate universe kinda way.
