Hi All,

I have to get from the international airport in Singapore to the train station to get the train on KTMB to Malaysia. I have about 8 hours to kill and was wondering if I could maybe catch a movie or something at the airport before I left for the station. Anyone have any idea of the best way to get to the train station from the Airport and approx how long it would take at about 5ish in the afternoon???

Cheers

Ms P

8 hours to kill is pleanty time to nip into town, get down Orchard for some shopping, Sim Lim Square for any computer, phone, camera accessories etc, trip on the river and food (chilli crab) Taxi to town from the airport at that time of the evening about 30-40 mins, MRT from the airport to City Hall, Raffels Hotel& the long bar, twenty mins. Taxi from the airport to the international train station about 15 mins.

Enjoy & make the most of it

Welcome to Malaysia, Pinkie...I am sure you will have a pleasant train ride to KL (?). Just a note to refresh you: The Muslims will be fasting during the Ramadhan month (Sept 23-Oct 25, I think, depending on sighting of the moon). In the east coast state of Kelantan, you may find life a bit on the "low key"...Muslim food outlets & shops will be closed during the day.No so in KL & Penang. It's polite not to offer food/drinks to Muslims, even as a measure of goodwill! Have a pleasant stay!

Cheers.

Don't waste your time on the airport. The trainstation is quite close to to the city area (Orchard, Bras Basah, Little India)

get yourself to the train station and keep your laguage in the left laguage. And start taking a little look at town.

If you are tired are the long flight and don't want to spend to much time walking around, you can go to the East Coast Park which is close to the airport. It's a long tretch at the water with beach and a lot of pubs and restaurants. Take the taxi to east cost park and tell the driver to drop you at the McDonald (there are all the pubs, cafes & restaurant.
