I'm taking a month to spend some time in Central America and was wondering what the most rewarding country might be on a budget? I've checked out Cuba however it seems to be pretty expensive with the rate of the Convertible Peso. Are there any other places that are more reasonable in that area (and still have good beaches)? any help would be great.

If it wasn't for the beaches, I'd say give Bolivia a try... you might try Ecuador; it wasn't too expensive when I was there, but I've no idea what the Ecuadorian dollar is doing these days.

Ecuador is still cheap and has nice beaches around Puerto Lopez.

Guatamela, Nicaragua or Honduras might fit the bill. Nice beaches and cheaper than most of the Caribbean islands or other Central American countries like Costa Rica or Panama. And you can still find some interesting cultural and historic stuff like Mayan ruins.

try Belize since u r in central america already!!

great beaches, try the keys!! great and cheap
if not Cuba is good
try private home lodging, and paladares for daily eating.

it can be as cheap as you look for.

good luck
