Hi All, Any advice on this will be greatly appreciated. Spending about 2-3 weeks in croatia early next year and then need to know the best/cheapest/easiest way to travel from there to Athens... Thank you!! :)

Most convinient would a bus-ferry-train combination. Go to Dubrovnik, take the ferry to Brindisi or Bari in Italy, from Italy go to Patras or Igoumenitsa in Greece, and take the train from there to Athens.

If you google a bit, it should be easy to figure out the prices and schedules of the ferries going Croatia-Italy-Greece as well as the train connection from Igoumenitsa or Patras to Athens.

It is not the fastest, and maybe not the cheapest, but definitely the safest option with the least hassle. You should be able to book sleepers on the ferry crossing or on the train going to Athens.

There is also a train connection going from Zagreb via Belgrade to Thessaloniki and then to Athens, but I don't know anything about the safety situation on that connection. It also takes 28 hours to make the trip this way, so I would recommend splitting it. If you are in Split, you could take a train from Split to Belgrade and change there, if you time it right, as Split is connected to tracks.
