Garden Route over Xmas Period

We are arriving into Cape Town around 10th Dec then plan to do a couple of weeks along the Garden Route then back to Cape Town. As this is over the Xmas holiday period does anyone know if we need to book accommodation all the way along? We would rather wing it but have heard that it's busy at this time of year?????

Also any suggested Itineraries for 2 weeks would be appreciated. We are into diving, surfing etc and nature stuff. Keen to do a great white shark dive and some whale watching if it’s in season???

You will be after the season for shark diving and whale watching, but that doesn't mean it's not possible. Only your chances are much slimmer (and you won't get a discount...)
