You definelty don't need a visa for Peru, Bolivia and Chile. Just your passport stamped at the border.

Canadian authorities should be able to provide that information; have you tried the information number of your ministery of foreign affairs? Else, best check websites of the canadian embassies in the countries you want to visit; when it comes to Visa information, don't rely too much on what people say here :)

Assuming you are Canadian, the best place to check is the Consular Affairs website. Based on what I know, you will need to get a visa in advance for Brazil. Otherwise, you can do everything else at the border. But check the website for the latest.
