...everyone out for themselves and the vunnerable in society would end up victims.

Doesn't that sound to you, exactly how it is now? People hardly know their neighbors, everyone is basically out for their own gain.

You mis-quoted me B! I stated that without SOME degree of rule it would disintegrate into chaos! Im not saying the society of today is any better but with no government or ruling authority which is supposedly democratically elected we would have no-one to administrate everyday requirements - healthcare, schools, social welfare or even rubbish disposal! Im being more practical l suppose!

If we have no rules we have nothing to adhere to and whilst us normal people would lm sure live and let live there are those in all societies who would be dangerous and a threat to all others - even insofar as running red lights for example!

In that l do agree that people dont know what goes on around them and are out for their own gain but at least there are some rules/laws to reign them in and keep them from going out of control!

Anyway what kind of revolution could take place to make world a better place - lm always open to suggestion!!

Surely if there is no rule of some degree everthing degrades into Chaos with everyone out for themselves and the vunnerable in society would end up victims.

I would only revolt if l agreed with the cause.

Surely we would have common sense to guide us.....or was that common rule of law....;)

Totally agree with you Q - for those of us out there in society who have a degree of Common Sense!! What about those unscrupulous members of society who have no common courtsey whatsoever!!

I wasn't misquoting you, just using what you said to make my point. I know what you mean, there are going to be people lacking scruples. It is a hard situation for sure, I can imagine highways - if there were no speed limits everyone would go as fast as they possibly could.

Like you and Q are saying, there would of course be some basic common sense that most people would adhere to.. but what to do with the miscreants. It's really a tough question... perhaps we have to look at what we do with them now. Today, if someone goes against the grain, breaks laws, etc. Law Enforcement arrests them and they go to jail (over simplified, I know). I think though, the reason for most of the anti-social behavior is sociatal contructs. Most of us can fall into roles asked of us by society, the ones who can't or won't are incarcerated (there are of course crazy people, but they are going to be a problem regardless).

If a revolution of all civilization began tomorrow, would you join in?

Revolution never gives you a warnin'
Revolution never sends you an omen,
Revolution just rises like the mornin'
Bring an alarm we're gonna wake up the snorin'

What sort?

Islamic as per Khomenei and the murderous theocracy in Iran?

Sing the toon of Maria (performed by the Nuns) from the 'Sound of Music'

How do you solve a problem like Sharia?
How do you catch a djinn and pin it down?
Why do imams and mullahs spout taqiyya?
A Deobandist, a WaHAHAbist, a clown!

Many a thing I know I'd like to tell it
Many a thing it ought to understand
But how do you make it stay
And listen to all you say
Modernity just seeps into the sand?

Oh, how do you solve a problem like Sharia?
How do you hold a kalashnikov in your hand?

Fascist?

I do look good on black with silver deathheads, but so does Prince Harry.
Too much goose-steeping and seig-heiling for me.

Communist (Bolshevik or Cultural)?
Destroyed families, societies, economies and environments, and all those bloody hours of f**king self-criticism.
I get enough from my wife without some tosser of a Marxist ideologue ranting about a worker's paradise and the need to more Stakhanovites.
Cultural Rev - yea, nice one Mao. How many million died?

Velvet Revolution- Czechoslovakia - Václav Havel
Playright, dissident against tyranny and nice guy.

I thank the one and only supreme being, The Mother Goddess, every day that the USA reigns supreme as the sole superpower.
It may be crass, most of the citizenry may not know much about the world outside it's borders, George Bush may be in charge,
but
GODDAM, THEY SURE KNOW HOW TO PARTY, AND WHEN THEY DO, I'LL BE THERE.
