We just returned from a week on the Big Island and it was spectacular. I love the bio-
diversity as well as the less touristy feeling than any of the other islands. The
highlight was sea kayaking with over 200 spinner dolphins in Kealakekua Bay. We
stayed at the Hawaiian Oasis B&B which was perfect - set on 2 acres of rare palms
and tropical flowers. Their website has lots of info about the B&B as well as great info
on things to do on the island http://www.hawaiianoasis.com
Thanks for your post...the big island is truly great! I remember visiting it when I was 11 or 12 and I actually remember that island more than Oahu (although that also has it's charms ).
I checked out the link you posted and decided to leave it in the post as it is a useful website. Normally we do not leave in any websites (see the forum rules) just because there are thousands of webmasters only trying to promote their website/company by SPAMMING forums. Just so you know for the future....
Did you also visit Maui by any chance??? I am thinking of heading there later this year....
Would appreciate any other tips that you have. I am going in August to Waikoloa and will be taking the wife and kids. I am an intermediate kayaker (california coast mostly) and look forward to our trip to the big island. I basically go very early in the AM so as I can be back before too late and do things with the family. I am hoping the dolphins are early risers...
Did you visit anything inland that you would recommend?
