Yup i did tubing is Laos........ it was wicked!! If your in the area its a must, very cheap! plus you meet so many cool people... lots of beer,,,, all very cheap... and the river exp is cool... when i did it we got to the end and ended up in this bar on the outskirts with a big bonfire... which was all a bit crazy... and music blarring.... all chilled out stuff though.. had some drinks...walked back across some weird small scary bridges... lot a flip flop in the mud... it was up to our knee as it was monsoon... then got back to the grid...

Went out with the guys i met that night and had a rocking cool time,,,,, try there cocktails.... really strong!!

tubing was amazing!!! loved that huge tree swing! we cycled back the next day to spend the day there! got lots of free home made lao lao whiskey. good stuff! i remember trying not to fall off those dodgy bridges after too many lao beers also and had to contend with wee kids underneath the bridge trying to stare up my skirt. they were only about 8 years old!

I was planning on going tubing in Vang Vieng when I was there a few years ago. But it was in January and it was cold and rainy so I opted out. Looks like fun, though. But...I've heard some parts of that river can be a bit dangerous/trechorous, so be careful!

im Still confused but highly intrigued. What on earth is Tubing

Tubing is floating on an innertube (used to inflate tires). Or in the case of the river in Vang Vieng, you aren't floating as much as you are drifting rapidly down the waterway.

Tubing is one of the funniest experiences you can have. Everybody should try it at least once, preferably starting at the top of the river with a bottle of laos'll find it really enhances the experience.

My friends & I tubed for 8 days and we are all now fully qualified professors of tubology.

Tube on

Lao Lao whisky, eh?

Oh the memories. Or lack of. I've never before struggled to swim so much as after the tubing experience. In half a foot of water...

Did any of yer see the bats in Vang Vieng? Now that was something worth waiting for.
