Hi Guys,

heading to italy in December (training down through france to rome to venice and back up to switzerland). Any suggestions on a nice beachside village for a day by the sea???

Try the Amalfi coast, if you have the time - Positano or Praiano or any of those little towns. They're gorgeous, and the views are spectacular.

Tway's suggestion's good, but... the beach in December?! Unless you're really in good fortune, the weather will totally suck (rains, wind, chill)... I'd stick to the cities in your case.

Amalfi coast is beautiful, as is the Cinque Terre in the North-West of Italy. It's a collection of small villages in the hills, but on the coast (they have beaches!). I think Levanto was the name of the place I stayed (which I like), but I was told that there were other villages in the Cinque Terre that were much nicer.
