Hola folks,
I'm getting some folks together for New Year's in Berlin. Does anyone have any suggestions as to where to stay, or where to celebrate The Big Night? Thanks!

The traditional place in Berlin for party is Brandenburger Tor. (Like New York and Times Square.) Bring your own alcohol.

Where to stay: I can recommend Meininger's Hostel, but others are equally good. Best book way ahead, Berlin is popular during New Year.

hello over there,

as for where to stay, i would only recommend the City Stay hsotel. it is in the centre of berlin and simply the best place ever.

new years eve...

most ppl just wander around the streets. masses of ppl do certainly go to the strasse des 27 juni (brandenburger gate) but that's gonna be awfully packed.

how about going on an organised pub crawl? i`ve done dozens of them ans always liked it a lot!!

check out

www.insidertour.com for further info and have loads of fun, no matter what you'll end up doing,

Bring something to protect your head from falling rockets.

If you haven't booked something for Silvester, you had better hurry (I would guess).

hello,

falling rockets: germans are crazy about fireworks and rockets.

these rockets get into the air, but of course gotta come back down to earth somehow......

more dangerous though are the fireworks itself. anybody can buy those in shops and set them on fire. those things just explode and make massive noise.....they are dangerous if ppl throw those into / at other ppl, which loads of germans do..... a lot of ppl end up at hospital every year on nye because of those explosive things - so, be careful.....

even more of a reason to consider an organised pub crawl.....

god luck,

simone

Oh, then you are in for quite an adventure here. Don't forget the camera (and try not to think about how much money it all cost and what a mess it will be to clean up afterwards).

Einen guten Rutsch!
