Can anybody tell me what the maximum amount that can be obtained in $US from Cirrus logo ATM's in Phnom Penh. Also what is the maximum amount that can be cashed in travellers cheques denominated in $US or Euro from one of the banks.
I have tried e mailing various banks but have not had one reply.

After a few days in Phnom Penh I am going to Laos and want to load up with $US rather than get lumbered with kip when I get there.

I really would appreciate any help. Thanks.

Interesting question.
Not even my on a shoe string book can answer that. I think it would be unwise, to rely on the banks, to provide the US dollars or Euros.

You get nothing but Cambo out of the machines. I was at Ankor Wat and the banks in the wanted to accumulate USD's no give them out. Euros and Dollars are widely accepted but be careful as you will get change in Cambo's. I know that you can cash TC's at banks and of course your hotel will have a terrable rate of exchange!

The ATM's give you as maximum always the daily withdraw maximum of your Banks ATM card.

Example: if your daily max. is 500 Euro, you can withdraw the equivalent of 500 Euro to Camb. Rial from the ATM's daily.

I'm in Siam Reap now..and the ATMS dispense only dollars. I think your home bank limit is probably it.
