Another Q to the forum. I got a yr whv.. Left n May, comin bac n 12 OCt and only have 3 months left on it. As I left the country for 6 months can I take my 6 months back and extend it or is there an alternative n staying another year. Best came up with was after my 3 months go over 2 nz then come back on a tourist visa 4 3/6 months..

Thx

No, that's explicitly not possible with a WHV. However, if you spend those entire three months doing seasonal work, I think you'd be eligible for a second WHV. (At least, I can't find anything on that page anymore about it not applying to people who got their first WHV from before the second WHV scheme was introduced.)

That would work as well, and New Zealand is a really nice country to spend time in. (In fact, I'd suggest also looking into the option of getting a WHV in New Zealand, so you can spend a year there, and then travel to Australia for a couple of months during that period, really just as a tourist.)

Finally, might I request that you write complete words, rather than using very hard to grasp 'abbreviations' like "n". It makes what you write really hard to read, and not everyone here is fluent in English.

You could look into the option of an Occupational Trainee Visa (OTV) if you had an employer who was willing to assist you in doing this. It gives you another 12 months to work but needs to be structured practical working experiences that will add to or enhance your existing skill level.

Could be worth taking a peak at otherwise the NZ option would be the best, i agree.
