Hi
Im really in a dilemma about which backpack I should get, mainly the weight is my concern! Can any one advise whether I should just buy the 70-90 litre one or choose the lighter version at 50-70?

Please help me as I am due to leave on the 20th November to travel round NZ & Oz for 1 year.

Many thanks

Georgina

Id go for 60L
Im off to Thailand and India and have been advised in the shops to get 60L. I was going for a 40L and they thought i was MAD!! I wouldnt get a bigger one as you will fill it up and it will be too heavy!
I have been told to get one that locks and also has a zip down the side... im not sure if there is such a backpack as i cant find one ANYWHERE!!!! Any sugestions welcome!!!
But as long as you can lock it i guess
Not much help really!!
Go for 60L

George1985,

Currently in the same position as yourself, heading out to Oz on the 8th November and just now looking at packpacks, from what ive seen most folk suggest sticking to around a 50-60. I also am looking at the Karrimor Global 50-70, so would be interested as well if anyone has any experience with the Karrimor Global.

p.s if you dont mind me asking were how much is the Karrimor Global 50-70 from were your thinking of buying it?

Hello!

I've got a Karrimor Global rucksack. I've got the 50-70 sized bag because I'm only 5' and can't carry a lot! Plus my clothes are small and I just don't need a huge bag. My boyfriend has the same bag but the next size up. I would say if you're petit then get the Ladies 50-70!!!!

We got our rucksacks a month or two ago and have used them already - even though we don't leave for our big trip for another two weeks. We used our rucksacks when we recently went wild camping in the Cairngorms, Scotland and they were fab. Dead easy to get into when in a cramped tent (big zip that goes 2/3 of the way round the bag)and also really comfy.

Also with the bag came two padlocks to secure the zips - they're not the best quality so we've bought sterdier ones. We also got a huge duffel type bag (with lockable zips) that the rucksack fits into - ideal for that extra bit of security and getting it through the airports hassle free.

As far as cost goes I think mine cost about £100. It was already reduced a little bit but we were cheeky and asked for a bit more off and got an extra £10 off the price - covered the cost for some decent padlocks I guess....

Anyway, hope my rambling message helped!!
