Custard has indicated that this thread is about Thailand

Hi we are planning on arriving in Bangkok in about 5 weeks, we are currently in New Zealand.

We plan in spending around six weeks to two months travelling round Thailand.

We know that we can get a free 30 day visa on arrival but we need more than that.

Does anyone know how much this will cost and how we can go about getting it? I.e at the airport in Bangkok or once in Thailand on a 30 day or even better in Nz before we get there.
At this stage we would rather no cross borders to do this....

Thanks

hi sam
if you are in thailand on a 30 day entry visa and it expires you can go to any imigration dep and get a 15 day extension. when that runs out you go back and get a 7 day extension then a 3 day then a 1 day then you need to head for el border. hope ur nz and oz fest is goin well . im in buonos aires. relly like it . very very affordable, friendly and safe . all the best ... j

Sam,
Kimo is right. Pay for your 60 day Thailand visa while in NZ and be done with it.

If you intend to make side trip to Laos or Cambodia you can plan that trip just before your free 30 days runs out. When you return to Thailand after that side trip you can get another free 30 day permit in your passport.

I got my 60day visa in advance. It cost £25 here in the UK and was sent back to me within 2 days, so very efficient.

Hello Custard

Visa Information for British Citizens:
I have heard, that the visa regulations in Thailand have recently changed. It used to be that u could cross the border of any neighbouring country and get another 30 day visa, for Thailand on the way back to Thailand free of charge.
Also, according to my on a shoestring book, u can extend your visa, for 7 to 10 days, at any Thai immigration office for 500B(around 8 or 9 British pounds)
Or u can apply for a 60 day tourist visa, for Thailand, in the Thai consulate, in New Zealand.

PS
I forgot
60 day tourist visa costs around $30 US and takes up to a week, to get from the consulate.
