I am planning to visit HK for 3 to 4 day at the end of December and would like to spend the rest of my 14 days vacation strolling down the coast on the beach. Any suggestions? Is It going to be warm or better to take a chaep flight from Macau to BKK or KL and then reach beaches from there? I have read about Beihai Silver Beach or Hainan province for beaches, but really don t know what to expect in terms of weather, entertainment and transportation compared to beaches in Thailand…
I don’t mind the relaxed and not too over crowded atmosphere at the beach and don’t expect to be in places like Phuket, but don’t mind lively places either…
Thanks in advance for your comments.
HK and Macau will be kinda cold at that time of year... Bangkok will be rainy, Bali will be kinda cloudy and light showers throughout the day... It's not quite the right time to go to the beach Anywhere at that time of year... I wouldn't recommend! Why not just go to Singapore, take a walk down Orchard, or go shopping in KL...

ok, it's going to be cold in HK and Macau, but what about Beihaiand the GUangxi region?? Heard that it's warm there...can anyone confirm. On the maps I saw also many islands around ...any information? thanks a lot for your help.
I could be wrong on this, but from what I understand, December is a fine time to be in Thailand. From what I've always been told, and according to every weather chart that I can find on the net, December (especially late Dec) is actually one of the driest months in most of Thailand and is the highth of the tourist season. It is still wet and windy on the East coast, but the Islands on the West, like Phuket and Phi Phi are at their prime.
i guess better go to hainan island instead of guangxi province to look for a sunny beach.
in hainan island the temperature inside the water probably is around 15 degrees.
if u want more warmer... go to thailand, philippines, malaysia
a fine season to go. also a high season, maybe a bit more crowded
In December, Hk is not very cold. I think Yangsuo in Guangxi is a nice place to pay a visit. It's warm there and not crowded.
