Watched Family Stone on our flight back from Beijing - l had no choice and it filled a hour or so - l like to call it a chewing gum film. Also watched Johnny Cash movie Walk the Line which l really liked Reece Witherspoon l thought was great in it.

Slightly off topic but is it me or can anyone else not stand Cameron Diaz??

Watched In Her Shoes last week with her (Cam) and that girl out of Muriels Wedding - again more chewing gum!

I think it's the roles she chooses that are crap. She was fantastic in being John Malkovitch (you can barely even recognize it's her), but I can't think of a single other movie she's made that I wanted to see...KInda like J-Lo. Cream-puff, rags-to-riches "acting". Jenny from the block my ar*e -you're not fooing anyone!

But I digress...

I think it's true with most actors - they are geat as long as the script is great and the director is great.

Went to see THE QUEEN last night - Helen Mirren - about Tony Blair and The Queen and how they both dealt with the aftermath of Diana's death in Paris.

It was very good - l have to say that in my mind it certainly does Queen Eliz a power of good and she comes up in my estimates. Although l have no real concern about the royals either way and that includes the late Princess Diana but it certainly portrayed the establishment as an old antiquated being which was trying albeit finding it very hard but trying to change!

Mirren was excellent in her role as QEII and the back drop of the Scottish Scenery in Balmoral was absolutely stunning - l really didnt realise that something quite so glorious was practically on my door step.

Yeah, saw that last week and you're right...better than expected. I liked the scene with Sam Elliot as the Marlboro Man with emphysema......

But the movie did point out that a whore is a whore is a whore...

Did watch 9 minutes of "Black Dahlia, by Ulli something". NOT the new big budget one (must bring glasses to video store). It was quite possibly the worst filmaking I have ever seen. 9 minutes was an eternity.
