Hi, I am Victoria,
Sorry, I haven't said HI earlier :)
These forums are great! I got so much information about different countries and people...
Just wanted to let you know that you are welcome to Russia and to St-Petersburg. I'll do my best to help you with the information and everything just like you (all) do :)
Thank you all!

Tory.

Hi, I am Victoria,
...
Just wanted to let you know that you are welcome to Russia and to St-Petersburg.

Greetings from Berlin! I still remember our visit to the Hermitage and also our day trip to Peterhof! There was a concert that day in front of the Great Cascade (I just had to look to see what that was called); that was quite interesting to watch.

But I also remember that poor condition of the city's infrastructure (street car lines that looked unusable, etc.). I don't remember where we stayed, but I think it was in a private apartment.

I do recommend a visit to your lovely city (and very definately a boat tour on the canals).

Hi all:)

Michael, I will :)

Kevin, was your trip long time ago? The city is different now. They have fixed all the centrum. And most part of the roads.
Would you like to come again? We have a lot of other nice places besides Petergof: Pavlovsk, Pushkin, Gatchina .... and hundreds of palaces and old churches in the city.
The best time to visit is June, but unfortunately it is a most expencive time here:)

BR
Tory :)

I remember that it was in the year right before the 300th anniversary (2003?) as everything was being fixed up and repainted. My wife says that we may be there again sometime next year. I also liked the night train we took from Saint Petersburg to Moscow. Nicely appointed (we were in a better travel class, I think).

Kevin,
I depends on the train. There are few kind of trains.... do you remember the name of your train? Did you like Moscow?
Here they have fixed the most important and nice buildings for 2003.... but they didn't stop on it. Now they have remaid all the centrun and even the Moskovskiy prospect (the way from the airport) so it looks really good, I am sure you would like it.

May I interfere in your friendly communication? :) I also like Saint Petersburg very much! It is sure better these days than, say, some five years ago. And it doesn’t matter so much, as mostly people come there to feel the spirit of past historical and cultural epochs (to visit palaces for example) and not to look at buses… Victoria you don’t need this info (sorry!), but I’d like to share it with those who plan to be as a tourist in St. Petersburg. This site contains a lot of info about the city and inexpensive accommodation (though they offer 5 star hotels as well): www.hotels-of-saint-petersburg.com I like it! I’d advise every person to come to St. Petersburg some time
