First year uni student, girl, travelling for first time at end of year (ie freaking out! )Will be with mates until 26th but then they fly to Vietnam and I am thinking about staying in Ko Samui for Full Moon.
1) Am I safe, as a girl by myself?
2)Will I meet people my own age?
3) What happens on new years - do people lay low to stock up for Jan 3 (FMP) or what??
Any help appreciated.
I will also be in Thailand for NYE and the 3rd Jan Full Moon Party. I've never been before but from the advice I've had from other travellers, it's a very friendly place where you will make lots of friends. BUT! always be aware of where you are and who you're with. Bascially the same in any country if you're going out on your own. Just be safety conscious, always tell someone where you're going, don't go off alone at any time, make sure you can trust people before heading off somewhere with them. The usual deal.
I'm sure you'll be fine
I plan on going to the Gecko Club on Ko Samui for NYE. Check out here for what's on http://www.dontstayin.com/thailand/ko-samui/gecko-village
Then onto Haad Rin for the Full Moon Party on 3rd Jan
hey there bec thanks for that
can anyone offer me any advice on palces to stay in ko samui? they all seem to be booked out places with twin share or the likes... no cheap, shitty 6+person a room place that won't be booked out, maybe cheap even?
