Hi

Will be in Melbourne from mid March to mid April. What is the weather generally like around that time down there? Planning to do some GA flying from Moorabin.

Cheers.

Melbourne weather is known for four seasons in a day but mid March until mid April this year was generally nice. It's the end of summer and you still get between 20 and 25 C° degrees during the day whereas the nights, especially in April start to get a bit chilly (12-15 C° degrees).

Hope that helps,

Steff

Steff is correct -Melbourne weather can be very changeable and notoriously unpredictable, but Autumn is one of the more stable seasons. Melbourne can be very windy, but in March/April the winds drop to gentle breezes, so I imagine this makes it an ideal time for flying.
Melbourne (like much of Australia) is currently experiencing a severe drought, and the rainfall over the last few years has been significantly below average. So, unless the drought breaks, don't expect to see lush green gardens and fields. However, your trip is unlikely to be spoilt by too many rainy days.

Enjoy your visit!

I heard Melbourne had the coldest Christmas since years, right?
