laosan has indicated that this thread is about Germany

Question 1:I will have 6 hours (11 am to 5pm,Sunday) waiting time to kill in FRA. Can I go to downtown? Any suggestion?

Question 2: We (2 of us) will take train from Frankfurt to visit Duisburg, Geneva( prefer night train with sleeping car), Milano, Venice, Florence, Pisa, Roma, etc. Shall we buy a 5 or 6 days three countries Rail Pass. Can we get any better deal in Franfurt airport? Or can we buy Rail pass in Germany or must in U.S? Any tips, good or bed experience.

Question 3: How about Zurich, shall we save the time and $ for Italy. We total have 7 days.

THX a lot

Hello Iaosan

U might not need a rail pass. There are some very good special offers, with airlines, and the German train company. If u can plan where u want to go, in advance, and buy the tickets, in advance, u will get the best deals. I usually fly out from Munich, to various destinations, in Europe, for 58euros, including taxes etc. Of course u have also to pay to get to and from airports.
Try the following links, to get bargin train trips and flights.
www.Germanwings.com
www.condor.com
www.db.de This is for trains.
When i find the link, about the Eurail passes i will post it here, in this thread.

Yes, u can go down town, in Frankfurt. The public transport is good. I spend a night in Frankfurt, between flights.

oh, i just noticed u have only 7 days. The Eurail passes last for a month, so wont suit u.
But i recommend, that with only this amount of time, u choose only one or 2 destinations. Otherwise u will spend all your time travelling and searching for accomodation and trying to get used to the cities.

i just spotted a mistake, in one of my posts, above.
I fly out from Munich, to destinations, around Europe for 58Euros return, not one way.
