Travel Forums Asia Will the weather ruin my life changing experience??? Help!!!

Hi All,

I am heading to Thailand with my boyfriend in late April of next year. We are planning on staying for about 3 months,(or as long as our money lasts) and visiting vietnam, and a couple of surrounding countries. We still haven't decided on which countries yet as everytime I decide on them I read a forum in here that changes my mind!!!
Can anybody tell me about the weather in asia - particularly Thailand around this time - April/ May - August. I have googled it but any help would be greatly appreciated! I have heard the wet season comes in around this time, is this the same all around asia. We really don’t want to put it off any later but I would hate for bad weather the whole time we're there.

Help will be rewarded with my undying love & gratitude!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello Clarife

I was in Bangkok, one April.
It was sooooooo hot.
Whether it will ruin your experience or not, depends on how much u can tolerate /or like heat. It is often 40C during the day, in Bangkok, in April.

Rainy season is something like the nicest season. The rain brings some freshness to the hot weather.

You will be allright. The rainy season in May/June - August are normal 1 hour rainfall in the afternoon and this not every day.

From May onwards you should stay away from the west coast (Phuket, Koh Phi Phi, Ko Lanta etc.) as the South West Monsoon hits this places what means rougher sea and sometimes more rain.

Koh Samui,Koh Phangan, Bangkok, North Thailand, Koh Chang, Koh Samet etc. are not effected by the South West Monsoon so you are fine there.

I can promise you, that there will be days where you wish it will rain, because of the heat.
