We're traveling to Vietnam, Cambodia and the Philippines for three weeks.

1) Can anyone recommend a reputable dive company in Puerto Galera? Very novice divers here, and want to get some training and some good dives in.

2) Also need a recommendation for a good hotel in Siem Reap.

3) Some good hotels along the coast of Vietnam would be appreciated as well.

Answers to any or all of the above would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Siem Reap is overflowing with "Good" hotels.

The recent surge of international interest in Angkor Wat (since the country became accessible from the mid 1990's) has resulted in a building boom with a veritable 'Who's Who' of the international hotel industry building sparkling new properties there.

Of course many of these come at "Good hotel" prices also!

-5 star hotels-
Amansara
Raffles Grand Hotel d'Angkor
Hotel de la Paix
Le Meridien
La Residence d'Angkor
Sofitel Royal Angkor
Sokha Angkor Hotel & Spa
Victoria Angkor

4 star
Angkor Holiday
Royal Angkor Resort
Angkor Century Resort & Spa
Day Inn Angkor Resort
Casa Angkor Hotel
Shinta Mani

My own recommendations would be:
(5 star)
Hotel de la Paix - modern chic!
La Residence d'Angkor - silks, local woods and greenery - very relaxing
Sokha - 5* at better prices

(4 star)
Day Inn - good value and consequently always in demand
Casa Angkor - good rates available for 4 star if you hunt around!
Shinta Mani - great food - train local people in the industry

Or you can try the Auberge Mont Royal for a small colonial feel close to the centre of town.

Hope this helps

Kind Regards

Andy

... of course "good" doesn't have to mean expensive.

there are plenty of good (and some bad) guesthouses also in Siem Reap
