I have just been reading the Sydney v Melbourne thing. What a laugh. Being from Melbourne I too understand the rivalry. Anyway, I was wondering if anyone knows of flights from London - Melbourne where I can have an extended stop over in Singapore. Lots of offers for a few hours but I would like to stay 2 weeks. Any info is really appreciated.
Have you tried an agency such as Austravel? They specialise in Australia/NZ travels from the UK.
www.airlinenetwork.net - Call and they'll arrange stop overs. SIngapore Airlines do free stop overs. You do need to call their phone number to get these stopovers though, otherwise the online site assumes you are going from A - B directly.
I've booked from Manchester-Melbourne via Singapore with them, no stop over in March. (I must be insane doing it in one day!).
I booked through STA travel and got a flight from london - bangkok - melbourne with nearly a 2 week stopover in bangkok so we can see some of thailand. I got a one-way flight which when I booked it was £500.
