Dear Hardik,

An excellent place for a winter holiday is MALTA. In winter the prices are amaziingly low, yet the climate is mild and you can even make a side trip to Sicily by ferrry. There is a greta deal to see and no need for a car as the island is served by numerous old- fashioned buses in and out of Valetta.

English is spoken and traffic is on the left because of the long connection with Britain, but Maltese history goes back five thouisand years and you can see the evidence of this from the amazing prehistoric temples onward.

I stayed in Marsascala, charming fishing village away from the more noisy parts. There is a four star Corinthia hotel there with an indoor swimming pool and every comfort at two star prices in winter. Consult the online brochure of CHEVRON HOLIDAYS which specialises in Malta holidays. Ther are, of course, numerous apartments to rent as well. Some people stay all winter as they do in Spain, as it is as cheap as staying at home.

Some things may be closed but the compensation is the lack of crowds. Goxo is also delightful and easy to visit. There are plenty of guided trips. Enjoy.

Hi Hardik,
The Greek Islands, Greece mainland, Southern Spain, Cyprus, Malta Southern Italy all have attractions.Check with travel advisers for each of them and get their advice.

Have you thought of North Africa? you will find Morocco, Tunisia and Egypt all have a real good winter climate and a lot of interesting things to see and do there.

Hello Hards.

There will be beautiful Christmas markets, in all towns, in Germany, in mid December.
Although, beautifully displayed, the items they sell are expensive, so not a place to shop. U can buy the same things in the shops, for less.
But the markets are a place, to hang out, and warm up, with a glas of Gluh wein.

Italy or Greece are not the only destinations for a mid December holiday, you know...Spain is also a good choice, especially cause in December the temperatures are not dropping under 12 C degrees. Not to mention the beautiful places you can visit there...for exemple Palma de Mallorca...with its Park de la Mar with impressive sculptures and monuments or the old Arab quarter. You can check the weather on -snip and also choose from other beautiful Spain destination. Enjoy your holiday!
