So here's the deal, I am 25, love travelling and am looking for a new adventure.
I went travelling after university round Thailand. Then I returned to the Uk and got caught up in the corporate world of work. I got this great well paying job, a nice house etc.... Most people would be content but I wanted more so I took this summer off and returned to travel Thailand, Laos, Vietnam and Cambodia. Had an awesome time, met some great people and vowed not to get sucked into reality once again. I came back to the UK and applied for and got this job in Cambodia to start from next year but it just was not meant to be and it fell through this week.
Now I am back to square one and looking for another adventure. I know it sounds cheesy but I think there must be more to life that working 9-5 and I want to see new things, meet new people, experience life. South America is looking good, it looks amazing and its cheap! At the same time I am open to any other ideas.
Anyone feeling the same and up for doing somethinge next year?
Yeah feel in a similar way. There is more to life than work and I feel before I "settle down" I need to travel, see the world. Im in a very good job at 26 now but sometimes when I look around me and see most of my friends the same age content with getting engaged, having babies like its the norm, I want to scream...no it not! Like I am happy for them but jus dont want any regrets later in life. Feel like Im missing out on something better right now...
Same here .....
i have a very good job at 24. but many other people whom i meet have been around. i also love travelling and having fun around. Most of the times i am stuck with work and when i am not, i find it hard to get company for any travel/adventure.

Crazy stuff ey? I might have to come back form my planned backpackking trip early to move interstate to start a job, and it depends on my uni results, if i get the job, if i get into a Postgraduate course and ability to change my flight.
How about heading to South America and leanring Spainsh, can explore the palce as well as learn a language. I regret not learning Spanish instead i learnt French)
Definately checkout a movie called 'The Spanish Appartment', love that movie. Its French about a guy who goes to Barcelona to learn Spanish then moves into an appartment with people from different countries. Trust me its wayyyy better than i make it out the be, its great, and the sequel is as good 'the russian dolls'.

Hey Sonya, thought of Australia, im off in July or August for at least 4 months and then off somewhere else for a few years after that.
Hey Sonya how's it going?
Well myself and best mate are planning to hit South America in February 2007 (around the 12th). So far we've looked at a couple of routes and obviously want to take in things like the Inca Trail and the Amazon. The thing is I'm not sure where the best place is to start. I'd like to start in Quito or Lima, perhaps even Caracas although I've heard it's not really advisable to travel there at the moment.
I've read about a boat trip that I really would like to do for the first couple of weeks on my travels and it goes from Belem on the East coast of Brazil to Santarem and on to Manaus (Or the other way round) through the Amazon jungle - has anyone heard of this?
Anyway if there are other people planning to head to S America next year it would be great to catch up and swap ideas/information :D
Feel free to PM me
I'll be in South America feb.-May 2007, if you wanna join me
