Two of us are off to Guatemala and Belize for 3 weeks in late November. A highlight of the tour will be a trip to Tikal and we'd like to do their 2 night/3 day Yaxha, Nakum & Tikal Jungle Trek. However, I somehow feel that their price per person of US$339 for a Spanish speaking guide and US$479 for the billingual guide is slightly overpriced. This includes camping (not even hotels) and some meals (not all) and no entrance to the Tikal National Park. Should we go for it or not? I apprecaite any advice. Cheers!
Yes this is a lot of money!
But it is also logical they ask a lot, because this type of trips are 'special' trips. Mainly you just go to Tikal and thats it.
But I have a very good friend in Guatemala who has his own travel agency called 'Aventuras Naturales'. He has been doing this kind of trips for years now. I emailed him with this question and also he said it is very expensive, they are asking to much.
You can also do this trip offcourse with my friend, he is a Guatemalan guy, but speaks perfectly englisch as well. You can reach him at firstname.lastname@example.org His name is Adolfo Cruz.
You can always ask him everything about these kind of trips. I'm sure he will get you the right information you need.
