That's sounds like an excellent thing to do. I wouldn't worry too much. Orcas have the name Killerwhales for the wrong reasons. And from what I've read there's different types of Orcas - there are the ones that feed on seals and those that feed on fish. The ones mentioned on the website seem to be the fish eating type so you would not in the least resemble their normal prey. And they are fascinating to watch, I only saw it on TV but they do hunt in groups circling in on the fish and then start a feeding frenzy.

So I would say, go for it, it's a great chance. (I have to remember that link, might go and do it myself one day...)
But as with all wildlife there's nothing predictable, you might only see one or two (or none at all) or you may be in for the full "show".

Have your seen the movie Free Willy? That's an Orca.
It didn't really seen very threatening in the movie so how could it be in real life ;)
But really, they are almost never threatening in real life. They might get a bit curious about why people would be hanging about in the sea but I would think it's pretty safe.

That is my DREAM trip and I hope to realise it soon enough. The idea of being so close to nature's greatest mammal is breathtaking and a great experience.

GO FOR IT..... I SAY

[ Edit: Sorry, no promos please... ]

I have spent a lot of time sailing yachts in various places and one of the greatest things you will ever see is a whale broaching -Orcas or otherwise. Every time I see whales when I'm offshore I love to sit back and watch them as long as they are around. Not a good thing in the middle of a yacht race but weyhey! I think they are one of natures wonders and the closer they are to your boat/dinghy, the more you will enjoy the experience. They are gentle giants so don't be affraid of them (unless you are wearing a wetsuit and swimming with seals - then you will look like dinner and an Orca or shark will be interested.) This will be one of those adventures you will talk about for years.
