Travel Forums Asia Best PADI operator in Koh Tao?

Hey, I am due to be in Koh Tao in a week or two and have heard that the whole experience is dependent on which operator and instructor you go with. Has anybody who has done this have any recommendations or warnings as to who to go with and who to avoid? Also shoul I book ASAP or is it easy enough to book on the spot when I get there. Finally I am travelling with my partner who doesnt intend on doing the course(slight water phobia). I've heard that some of the courses include accomodation so would that extend to double rooms which could accomodate both of us or would he need to find an alternative place to stay?

Thanks in advance.

Rachael

Hi Rach,

I'm arriving in koh tao in about 10 days time and also going to do a padi course there. The deal my friedn and I got was £300 from STA which included accomm, licencing paperwork, equipment hire, some meals, everything really for 6 nights. Unfortunately I can't remember the tour operator or company at the moment but I'll get back to you if you want. We were recommended it through one of the agents at STA who'd actually done the course herself and stayed at the place we'd stayed at. I also have met a couple of people who have recommended it as well.
