What is the world coming too or have l just missed something? Can someone tell me WHY anyone would think it was a good idea to put up full blown Christmas decorations (along with garden santas etc etc) all flashing and glowing in the dark - at the start of November?? Are they mad?

- l have now personally viewed 2 homes not too far from me with the full Christmas decorations up already!!!!!!!!!!

If lm missing something please tell me!!

Heather

Just call me scroooge. Anything chrismassy before at least the 15th of december and I get irritated.

Especially October or November!

The shops are all getting decorated and I think it was about a month ago that I saw the first christmas tree...nutters.

These are full blown decorations adult sized Santas in the garden, external trees with fairy lights; flashing lights on and off; the 3 wise men - THE WORKS!!

I can understand shops to a point having the decorations up - they got a products to sell but a residential house!!

Im with Mim - nothing before the 15th Dec!

Im not even put anything up this year cos we will be off on 23rd Dec and not back to the end of Jan so not really much point!

I got called The Grinch at work today!!

Bah Humbug!!!!!!!!!

I havn't seen any homes around here, but most of the shops have their plastic trees out. I don't even care anymore, christmas lost its meaning many years ago...

Now now, they are doing their bit for global warming. If everyone got into the spirit of putting millions of tackey light all over the place we can make a couple of things happen:
1 - light pollution, so no one will know when it's day or night.
2 - Help the earth warm up a bit, and in winter time all that extra CO2 emmissions from the extra electricity produced goes a long way.
3 - kill off a the weak and old wilh the added pollution.
4 - make the owners of the electricity firms happy and rich.

Don't feel bad, H2....there are a few people here who have the "disease" too. The stores have had their displays up for about a week and a half now. No sense.....

Though I have found myself humming Christmas in the Caribbean, but I have a suspicion that's for other reasons.

I saw all the buildings downtown decorated for Christmas today. It wasn't there on Friday! We're going to get bored to tears of piped-in carols and tinsel in a few weeks - what's the point?? Who made this new rule, anyway?

I have a string of Christmas lights on the front verandah, and I'm not joking (I'm really not joking) when I say that I only took them down last night (Nov 6th)!

Mind you, I haven't switched them on since last Christmas.

I'll put them back up in a few weeks.
