Hello.
Have our first trip to Disneyland booked for Feb 24/07-Mar 3/07.
Just looking for general tips or advice re: rent a car or not??
theme park tickets-purchase when you get there or in advance?? Any deals?? Any good tips on how to see a little of everything, in one week only??!!
Just basically looking for comments on seasoned travellers who have been to Disney.
We are booked into the Bahama Bay Resort on Lake Davenport, apparently 10 minutes from Magic Kingdom.

Thanks to all
We are flying in from Canada.;)

How Wonderful! Disney World is one of my favorite places. I found Steve Birnbaums book most helpful the first time I went. (I hope he is still writing them.) He goes through every ride, feature, activity and restaurant as well as giving suggestions for touring when days are limited. Is where you are staying a Disney property? If not, then a car may be helpful, but if the Disney transportation system (busses, mainly) includes your area, then they are a convenient way to go. What ages are going? What do each of you want to get out of the trip? There is truly a lot there! Enjoy! - Rebecca

Hey.

First of all have FUN in Florida, it is Beautiful as i visited earlier this year with my family.
Are you staying at one of the Disney world resorts, such as POp Century resort or such? We stayed at one of these resorts and were granted FREE transfers to all disney world parks including downtown Disney. The best thing to do which i feel is the best, is get an open parks tickets. This ticket allows you to go to any of the parks anytime leave and come back. It is a bit more expensive this way however you can visit two and even three parks in just one day!
I suggest if you are not staying at an affiliated resort then either taxi it to the parks ( this is VERY expensive) I say this beacause even being on the transfer bus i got lost lol it is just SOOO BIG!! If you are renting a car which of course would be MUCH cheaper then maybe get atleast 3 different maps and study them before heading off.

The Best thing about the transfer bus is that you dont have to pay to go through the toll gates at the parks which they do have.
I think that once you are at one park you can still take the transfer bus but you will still have to get back to your hotel some other way.
May i also suggest if you have the time to check out International drive or I drive, It has THE best and cheapest shopping around.

Well hope i could help you.
HAVE FUN.

Last time we were to Florida we had a nasty incident involving our passports. If you lose them it is a good idea to have photocopies elsewhere that have been noterized.
