I just got back from Peru a few months ago and I did not have any problems carrying a knife. As long as it is in your checked bags you should be fine. I would also suggest bringing a headlamp instead of a typical torch. This way you can keep your hands free while hiking in the dark or setting up a tent. Have fun, Peru is incredible.

Yeah headtorches are an absolute godsend especially if you are trekking, or in a squat toilet with no lights! Saves trying to hold the torch in your mouth when "cleaning up"!!

swiss army knife yes but what about if i carry a flick knife with me to use for the same reasons as a swiss army knife...just could not be assed buying a swiss army knife! but swiss army knife and flick knife have similar size blades...

i know in the uk a flick knife on a person is regarded as a illegal and offensive weapon...if its in your rucksack is this still the case? when its not actually on you?

am i ok carrying this around? obviously not when i am at airports or having it on me...just in my bag...

is a flick knife ok? i like cutting up things
