this is on behalf of a few friends of mine, they are going to italy in june/july and from there for 6 weeks are travelling east and going around countries such as czech, hungary, poland and neighbouring countries. they are looking at getting a 2 zone interrail pass at the cost of £215 which wont even last them their entire trip. does anyone know if it would maybe be better for them to just buy their train tickets for the whole trip. from what i remember the prices are very inexpensive on the trains in these countries. many thanks

yeah they are best off buying point-to-point tickets. the ticks are cheap in the east. buy them from city to city.

Yup, unless they are literally going to be moving every day, it will almost certainly work out cheaper to buy point to points, particularly if they plan it fairly well and don't double back etc or use premium services (only a few in e Europe and not that expensive on the grand scheme of things, but cheap options still available)
