Dear Vitaly,
I just joined today, and was so happy to meet someone from Sochi. I stayed in Sochi back in the ancient times of 1973! I loved it there. It is a very beautiful city, and the countryside was gorgeous. I remember taking a bus trip to a lake in the mountains, beautful and blue/green, where I ate delicious shashlik.
I stayed at a workers holiday camp on the Black Sea with a group of American students. I was fluent in Russian then, and made many wonderful friends. It was summer, and while we were there, the very first Pepsi-Cola plant opened nearby! I hope Sochi is still as beautiful as I remember. Hello from San Francisco!

A very Late hello to Vitaliy. Sochi sounds amazing. Really enjoyed your post describing it. Will definitely be going there someday (I hope) Kevin in Vancouver. Reluctant host city for the 2010 winter games. :)

WAs in sochi, I haven’t seen so many Police in Russia before visiting Sochi. They checked my documents for five times a day! And I couldn’t say that it annoyed me. May be first time in Russia I felt safe. But at the same time I did not plan to make frequent police checks part of my daily life. So, after I started to leave in a room my bag and camera police doesn’t check me more. To tell the truth people in Russia do not trust to police and very often emit negative energy on police officers. more in -snip-

[ Edit: Sorry, no promos please. ]
