Hi all,

Just looking for a nice, clean, cheap, central hostel in Broome, Alice Springs and Adelaide.

Can anyone recommend anything?

Katie :-)

Hi Katie,

in Broome I first stayed at Cable Beach backpackers, it's nice and clean, but overpriced and staff could be friendlier. If you want to stay there make sure you book in advance otherwise you can crash in a swag for $15 dollars a night (see, what I mean with overpriced?!).
Another aspect with CC backpackers is that it's a 15 minute drive away from the city centre (or what you could call a city centre ;)), so if you want to be closer, I suggest staying at the Last Resort. First I wasn't tempted to go there, as it is known to be a bit of a party place, but it turned out to be a really friendly and small hostel. If I'd return to Broome I would stay there again.

In Alice, I can recommend Annie's place. They have a pool and a nice bar. Also the tour they offer to Ayer's rock (Mulga's) is a good deal.

Hi Katie,

In Adelaide I stayed in the central YHA - it's clean and in a good location, has an excellent communal/social area and great cooking facilites. There is also a travel shop attached which can arrange tours and onward bookings. This was the second best hostel I stayed in in Oz (after one in Augusta, WA)

hope this helps.
