Well it looks like u really started something here Anela.
I gotta go down the road that no place is bad!! In truth sometimes it's the bad experiences that make for the funniest/best stories and memories.
As time passes something that seems bad kinda vanishes and u seem to only remember the good times.
One time I was let down was at the pyramids in Cairo. I had a vision in my mind that it would be isolated and mystical. I arrived in a massive courtege of coaches with armed guards only to see untold shops and a massive tourist trade built up around it. I think I was just suprised.
Thing is I would never change it.
The funniest thing happened also. My friend took one of the £5 (cypriot) cammel rides into the desert. Once he was mabye a couple of miles from us the rider told him his trip had ended? "But I want to go back to the Pyramids" he replied.
He got charged £30 for the return journey. Not only that but he got a merciless ribbing for days after by the lads.
Thing is he would'nt change a thing either
I'm a mere 17, younger than you, recently joined this site, and LOVE IT!
Traveling is my freedom and I agree with a lot of previous replies that
I don't have a 'worst' place, some trips haven't beeen the happiest,
but hey, if you wanna' chat, hit me up
57.....There is no worst place
53 on the outside, and 13 on the inside?
i am sincerely trying to think of the worst (is that a word or a sausage) place and nothing comes to mind. having a lot of spare time on my hands with no money to go anywhere new..... but tonight is punk kareoke in amsterdam.
Well, I guess you'd have to define worst, because, as I've travelled, I've found that somebody's luxury is another persons dissappointment. My worst holiday was to Lanzarote, we were practically in the middle of nowhere, with building sites; plus the people I went with were so nasty to my sister and I that we phoned home everyday.
Oh yeah, and I'm 20 - but most people think I look about 16. They say It'll be a good thing when I'm 40, but I don't mind it now apart from when I go out i.e. my 20th birthday at the cinema and we got asked for I.D. to watch an 18's film- not funny.xx
33 years old, turning 34 in the month.
Worst place I have been - Philadelphia. I'm sure it's a nice city, but I had a bad time there. Got drunk and threw up all over my hotel room. Suffered through boring meetings with a deadly hang over.
Plus, years later, a girl I was dating went to Philly for work and ended up breaking up with me because of the distance.
So, overall, not my favorite place.
im 25, but i still feel like im 18. age is but a number i say. anyway the worst place i was in was wisconsin.....because my boyfriend at the time was a pain. but otherwise its nice. and happy b-day james
I'm 40 but who cares? The worst place anywhere is any airport in any country when you're flight's delayed for hours outbound, which means your holiday is shorter...but miraculously, the flight is early when you have to return home to go back to work......
I'm 31, although aparantly I've yet to reach 24.
It used to bother me when I was in my teens and early 20s too, Tikilou - to be carded at 25 was exasperating. But I'm not 16! But my sister's younger than me! But now - bring it on! "Oh, 24? You're too kind..."
My worst place ever? I remember the bathroom at the bus station in Ronda, Spain. I took one look and decided I could hold on for the 2-hour bus ride.
I also just about hated Versailles - not the place, but all those people. I had to squish past hordes of tour groups from room to room - not good when you feel like you'll never get a breath of air again! I didn't enjoy a minute of it till I got out. But the gardens were beautiful, so I didn't regret my visit a bit.
