Hey Guys,

im heading around france, italy and germany in december. Seeing as i will be on my own for christmas i was thinkin of bookin into a backpackers near the snow in switzerland or more likely austria and spending about three days skiing.

Is this totally the rediculous or what? Can it or something similar be realistic?

thanks for any help

How similar, i decided ages ago for some reason to spend Xmas in Vienna, to be honest no idea why. Not exactly sure what to do there being christmas and all but should be fun times.

If you go to Innsbruck tourism site they have a lot on skiing and ski packages and stuff (www.innsbruck-tourism.at), but wont most places be closed being xmas???

Boy i sooooo want a white christmas, and by going skiing you could make sure of it, how cool :D

Hi!

I've done most of my skiing in the U.S., but I know when I was on my Contiki tour in Austria they said Hopfgarten was a great place for ski/snowboarding. I was there in the summer, but it was an adorable town and the mountains surrounding looked like great runs! Have a great holiday.

In towns it will be very quiet, but some skiing resorts should be open. A lot of Germans, Austrians etc go away over Christmas either to skiing resorts or to the beaches in Egypt, Tunisia, Morocco or Turkey. So if you pick the right place, you can have lots of fun! Don't worry!
