Trains are approx hourly from London Euston station (on the northern side of Central London, on the London Underground). There will be further connections if you change in either Stafford or Crewe.

Be aware that there is a chunk of engineering work at weekends, so services may be different, take longer, and possibly involve bus replacements as well.

If you book well inadvance through the link which Clarabell suggests, it will be MUCH MUCH cheaper. However, this will restrict you to specific trains. If you just turn up and buy - which you can - it's allot more exensive. Basically, the earlier you book, the cheaper it is

If you want to go really cheap, you could go megabus, from £1 each way. Takes 5 hours and isn't very comfy though.

Definately prebook and DO NOT just turn up on the day and buy a ticket - I lost my cheap tickets once and had to do this, and it cost £90 one way!!
