agss241 has indicated that this thread is about Malaysia

We'll be traveling from Wakaf Bahru to Gemas on Train #91, the
slow, local "Jungle Train". This train arrives Gemas at about 9PM.
I understand there is a hotel in Gemas near the railway station.
Can anybody tell me a name of the hotel, just how near to the
station, possible to make a reservation, how to contact the hotel?

Any information about this leg of our trip will be appreciated. Will be traveling with my
wife and 13-year-old Granddaughter.
Thanks. :):):) Tom

Sorry I don't know the name of the Hotel or the phone number.

It's straight next to the Train station.

With an Taxi you will need 1+ hour to get to Malacca or about 40 minutes to Tampin. You would have much more Hotel choices there.

A Taxi is about 40 Ringgit to Tampin, Malacca maybe 70.

Hi Tom,

I posted this in the forum sometime back (June) in response to a similar question from another member:

As you step down from the train, you will see two hotels - Bee Chew & Hung Suan, a bit further out is Hotel Gemas, and a km away is Gemas Golf Resort...You will have no problem in finding a room for a nite..The Rumah Rehat (Govt Rest House) sits on a hill behind the police station and looks a lot better and more expensive. There's a telephone number at the reception..

no need to book a room....and u will not get lost in this little town...which is steeped in history...only if we can to explore!!!!...Just in case, here is the Gemas Railway Station number....07 948 1026.

I have misplaced the phone numbers of the hotels. I will send you a PM soon.

Thanks Dana & MazDev, for the most helpful info.
Dana, I poked around and finally found your last post.
Thanks for your patience in posting it again.
I also found a picture page of the Jungle Line and some
photos of Gemas: http://www.pbase.com/cathryn/junglerailway
One pic shows the Hung Suan Hotel.

Again, thanks much. Tom:)
