A friend and I are planning a trip to London, Spain, Barcelona, and Valencia in August. We plan on flying into London and spending 3-4 days there. We definately want to go to see Stonehenge. What is the best/cheapest way for transport between Stonhenge and London. Is there a bus that runs between the two? What other things should we see/do in London such as landmarks, nightclubs, etc? Next we want to visit the three cities in Spain because we have friends that live in each city. I hav e looked up flights to each of theses cities from London using Easy Jet. They all were about $55 US so it doesn't really matter what city we fly in to. The problem I have found is that Easy Jet or Ryan Air (at least from what I have seen) doesn't have flights that connect these cities to each other. What is the best way to have cheap/quick trasportation between these cities? Any suggestions are welcome...
I am doing a similar trip in April and will be using a Eurail pass. I found it to be cheaper and faster (in most cases but not all) than using the low cost airlines. It also allows me use on the national rail systems between the smaller towns and centers. In your case a one or two day national pass may be something to look at to get around the UK then Ryan Air (or similar) to get between the major centers. You may also be able to check into 'BusAbout' bus lines that go between various points of UK and other countries. Just my two cents
I would imagine bus is the cheaper option
The buses depart from Heathrow Airport and from Victoria Coach Station in the centre of London. The journey takes about 2 hours and there are 3 departures daily.
Get off at Amesbury.
From there you can either walk (about 2 miles), catch a local bus, or get a taxi.
You can buy tickets on the coach, at the coach station, or from ticket agents for National Express. You can expect it to cost about £12 return. It is the cheapest way to travel to Stonehenge.
If you are coming from Gatwick Airport you will need to first get to Heathrow Airport or to Victoria coach station (you can do this by bus) and from there change buses to Amesbury.
Stone Henge is kinda in the middle of nowhere for southern England anyway!
The best (and cheapest) way to go from Barcelona To Valencia is taking a bus, it costs 20€ and it takes about 4 hours. There are thousand buses between these cities everyday.
To reach Sevilla isn't as easy and cheap as Valencia. By train or bus you must go to Madrid and from there to Sevilla. But check the low cost airline www.vueling.com they have dayly flughts from Barcelona and Valencia to Sevilla.
If you need anything else say it.
