I live in the USA, and I get five weeks vacation per year.
I also get two weeks sick leave per year (which I rarely ever use)
The good news is that I can carry-over up to eleven weeks vacation every year (which I do), and when I retire, I can sell back those eleven weeks.
When I retire about February, 2007, the vacation I sell back will more than pay for a two week vacation in Australia.
In Indonesia, according to the Ministry of Human Resources, companies must give at least 12 work-days of annual leave. But even there are companies that give their employees less than 12 days! My friend has only 5 days! I say that's slavery!
(gelli - don't you think it so Dogbert?)
The company I work for gives us 20 workdays of paid leave. + 3 days leave for wedding. Female employees also get 3 months maternity leave. We don't get annual leave until we reached 1 year of employment.
When you guys travel for a long time, say 1 - 3 months, how do you do it? Do you take unpaid vacation?
I accumulate (+/-) 2hrs of annual leave per week, which can be used for sick leave or vacation, so far after just over 6 mths I have 80hrs. I work full time on a casual basis.
