I have heard that its strict, and you are not allowed to
take photos at some places, eg the train station, or photo
of army. I am a photography enthusiast, and always carry my
D-SLR along. Will that pose any trouble in MM? Also, is it
needed to declare camera upon entry? Will I have trouble
bringing my camera along?

Sorry to sound paranoid but...

For the most part you should have no problems with taking in cameras or photography in Mynamar. You don't need to declare cameras at customs. As for taking pictures, just like in most other countries around the world, they are going to frown on you taking photos of anything related to the military. But train stations, outside the airport, and most bridges should be okay. When in doubt, just ask. The people in Myanmar are very polite and friendly.
