have any ladies here travelled with high heels? what do people wear to go clubbing when its snowing outside? would cute little dress and strappy heels be fine?

i was thinking to wear boots and carry a big bag, then when i get to the club, i change into strappy heels and put the boots in the big bag i brought along, has anyone done this? or does it sounds ridiculous?

sorry if it sounds like a stupid question but i come from a place that never snow, so please enlighten, thanks for helping!

Oh, a question of my own ilk!

Here's my winter trick: find a boot-heel combo. Target has some great finds for under $40. I usually get about a half-size to a full size too big so I can wear warm, fuzzy socks with my boots in the winter (or you can put comfy inserts in them). If you get the kind that repels water, even better. I get compliments on my boots all the time. Try to keep it to nice slender heels, even stilettos. You actually get better traction in ice and snow in them (I walk my dog in one pair when the roads are icy for that very reason). Depending on what kind of dress or skirt you're wearing, look for something about 1/3 of the way up your calf. It looks better than longer boots.

I know how you feel, you just need to have a dressy pair of shoes with you right;) The heeled boot suggestion above is great. Or why not wear closed in heels and a pair of dress pant considering the weather, teamed with a classy top.

I was thinking about something similar except it wont be winter! Im trying to pack light but going out in Australia and New Zealand - do l pack a pair of heels or not? Or what about ballet pumps - l bought a pair of sparkly gold ones today would they do the trick or does everyone just wear flip/flops (aka thongs) on their feet cos its so warm??

Ballet pumps are definatly a good idea because they are light and don't take up too much space. If you want to go to any more smart bars or clubs you will need something like that, as lots of places don't allow "thongs".

This kind of thing........... but the plain black or gold/sliver are the best as they go with everything, and they are comfy if you can't wear high heels.

Although I think they're best with jeans/trousers....when worn with a skirt I think they can make your calves look rather big.

If you get a boot, I'd go with a faux suede or something that moves easily. It packs better, and you don't have to worry about ruining an expensive pair of boots.

You'd be amazed at how many people do wear such things, even when it's -30 outside. Admittedly they get so drunk before they go out (standard in Scandinavia) that they don't feel the cold as much, but even so!

If it's properly snow outside, you are better off with some other kind of shoes. High heels are a liability in snow, especially if alcohol is also involved. I do know people that take their heels with them and change, so it's not as stupid as all that.

take some cheap, expensive looking sandals with you,
if you need them ,good for you,
if not forgett them ,or give it as a gift to one of the girls at your hostal.
best color is black or white!
you are never wrong with this ,
