transfering money into cuba?

Travel Forums Central/South America & The Caribbean transfering money into cuba?

my brother is currently in cuba, and has no access to money because he lost his visa in panama. (so smart of him.)

so, i'm trying to transfer some money to him but i can't find a way to do it as he doesn't have a credit card, and cuba are embargo.

he's staying with some people he knows, and, says that they don't mind having him. but he's staying in cuba for another 2 weeks and already feels bad for spending their money.

i've tried western union and they say it's only used for the US military, and caribbean transfers needs a credit card.

i'd say it's an emergency so any help would be appreciated.

thanks.

I sent once through a bank that had NO business with the US, Banca Nazionale del Lavoro. Find any bank not linked to the US and ask if you can make a deposit for your brother to redraw in Cuba, with his passport.

A little bit hard!

Well they don't make business with any US institution it's for sure that u can use a mexican or european bank to do that! They take visa also (Only not from a US bank) so he can ask for the replacement!
