hi im hoping to quit my job and take around 2-3 monthes off and travel to australia, iv never been before and im unsure where i would start, so i thought i might go on a organised trip such as contiki or trek australia (i dont know any others), has anyone been on any of these trips? if so do you recomend them?, im wanting to see the great barrier reef, surfers paradise etc... im a joiner by trade and wouldnt mind picking up a little work possibly, any ideas or advice for me?, iv got a flat with mortgage so i have a limited budget of around 9k in savings so im hoping this will be enough to cover my mortgage and cover my trip etc...- does anyone want to join me?, im a 24yr old male from kendal cumbria U.K-
Hiya! Iv done a contiki in the usa and loved it! Was a brilliant way to meet loads of people and see part of the world. Theonly downside i will point out is that you dont always get long enough in each place and it is very fast paced. I did consider one of the oz trips-and may still do one when im ver there but probably wont use them to do the east coast as i want to spend longer in various places.
Hope that helps
Hi, im currently planning to travel oz starting in Feb 07. Unlike yourself i dont have quite so many pounds saved so will be getting a working holiday visa so i can work along the way. I plan to travel for 6-12 mths seeing as much as i can. My brother is a carpenter by trade and has been out there since sept. Hes currently in Sydney and says there is loadsa work for trade. Hes been picking up around $100 per day. Where are you planning to start?
